What is Microlighting ?
In
a word, microlighting is freedom. Freedom
to escape from the mundane routine of life on Terra Firma – and from the
confines of conventional flying. Microlighting
does not need the facilities that that large aeroplanes demand.
Any fair sized field can become your aerodrome and your garage can
be your hangar. Your local
garage is your fuel supply and you are at liberty to be your own mechanic.
In the air, the views are out of this world. Skimming past the clouds, flying high, swooping down, simply unwinding and watching the world go by. The sense of freedom is complete; you become part of the machine.

Trial
Flights
Trial
flights of 20 and 40 minute duration are available for a ‘taster’,
where the student will usually get the opportunity to handle the
aircraft themselves under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
These are also an ideal and unusual gift and are available in the
form of a voucher.
Full
lessons are usually 60 minutes duration.
All
lesson times are the actual time spent in the air.
The whole experience will be far more than this.
From the moment you arrive at the airfield you will be greeted by the team and fellow flyers. You are welcome to bring your friends and family to watch, and don't forget your camera !
Prior to flying your instructor will take the time to explain what the flight will entail, explaining how the aircraft operates, what you are likely to see on your flight. You will then be provided all the necessary clothing and equipment before walking to your aircraft waiting on the airfield apron.
After
the necessary routine checks its up into the air and your trial flight
experience really begins !
